Away she flew.

She strode
Past the onlookers
The staring eyes
The pointed fingers.

She strode
On the path less strewn
On the road less traversed
On the course which was harder.

She climbed the ledge
Shushed all the whispers
Spread her arms
And leapt.

Earlier, she strode.
Now, she flew.

The Romance Of It.

The wind caressing my tresses,
The Sun glinting at my glimpse,
The trees shaking their boughs,
The flowers showering themselves on me,
The leaves crowning my head,
The dew melting at my touch,
The grass tickling my soles,
The birds singing, crickets chirping, bees humming to make their presence felt,
The flowers spreading their perfumes,  tingling my senses,
The butterflies adorning me with their touch,
Oh and the crows shitting me with luck!

So much love and I'm still looking for more?

Shine in silence!

Things might not always seem bright,
You might feel the end of the tunnel has no light,
But do not lose your faith upon Her,
She considers you strong, Mon cher.

Life will always give you highs and lows,
Our attitude decides who's going to stay and who bows,
We have a long way to go,
And to the world we'll show,

No matter how much the world puts us out,
We will always get up and go about.

Longing Along…

Surrounded by people, yet feeling all alone
How lucky I’d have been to be getting all their love,
They cheer for him, they jeer at me,
All because he has the means, I have the needs.

Walking along the beach, the waves lapping at my feet,
The wind whipping through my hair, their jibes roaring through me.
Silence was what I sought; maybe I wasn’t destined for that too.

I was never given a chance, a chance he never even had to ask for.
I proved them wrong; I stood on my feet,
They pulled the carpet from beneath me,
They pulled me down again.

Today I stare out at the sea,

I see the waves coming towards me,
I let them take me down with them,
And there’s finally silence all around me.

Numb, and quiet, I remember God,
And I promise to Him I’ll come out strong.

I do! Do you?

Dedicated to those who made me realize along the way that love doesn't always give back love! Thank you for teaching me one of the harsh realities of life...

I do! Do you?

I never meant to hurt you,
I never meant to slight you,
I wish you'd understood me,
I'd never have gone without you.

My love was all I had for you,
My concern was all I showered on you,
Yet you thought I pestered you,
I'd never have done that to you.

If I was tired, I was no fun,
If I was fun, I was trying too much,
You always had a complain about me,
I'd always tried not to do that to you.

I wish you'd loved me,
I wish you'd seen me,
I wish you'd cared for me,
Because that is all I ever did to you.

Forever and ever and ever...

It's beautiful...

Though I'm not a big fan of Rabindranath Tagore, living in Bengal for the past years has brought me in contact with his writings a lot of times, resulting in distancing me all the more from Tagore. I'd always heard the Bengali version of his songs and poems and I admit I didn't like them much!

However recently I came across a verse written by him, which had been translated in English. It goes as follows :
Through many years,
At great expense,
Journeying through many countries
I went to see high mountains,
I went to see oceans.
Only i had not seen
At my very doorstep,
The dew drop glistening
On the ear of the corn.

A great truth written in such simple words!
Maybe that's one of the reasons he's hailed all around the world! :)
